Kyler Pahang’s show Reflect Every 2 Weeks opens this Saturday, May 9th, from 6-8:30 in conjunction with at the SAL gallery.
Pahang has created a series of paintings exploring the beauty that exists within the Barbershop; often seen as the last place for men to be men. Warts and all, Pahang highlights the tenderness, care, and closeness that come with the act of cutting hair and getting a haircut.
He questions the notion that a haircut is purely transactional but instead offers that the touch and conversations are transformational.
Show will be up through May in the SAL gallery.

is today!
Seattle Artist League is part of a statewide movement to show up for the organizations that shape our communities and today is the day to do it. Washington is a 24-hour giving campaign built on the idea that small actions, together, create real impact:
At SAL, that impact looks like people walking into a studio for the first time. It looks like scholarships, free workshops, open studios, and artists finding their voice and their people.
We’re almost to our goal. Help us close it out strong!
If you’ve been meaning to give, this is your moment.
If you believe art makes this city better, this is your chance to back it.
