Spend Fridays nights in the studio!

Beginning Acrylic class starts THIS FRIDAY, October 16th, and there are still a few spots open!

Acrylic dries fast, plays well with experimentation, and lets you layer, repaint, change your mind, and keep going. Basically: a very forgiving medium for making a mess and figuring things out.

Fridays • 6–9pm • 8 weeks

Reflections turn everything into something new: boats stretch, dark shapes dissolve into light, and every ripple rearranges the picture.

In this workshop Reflections Drawing at the Duwamish River People’s Park and Shoreline Habitat, Kyler will show you how to simplify a busy waterfront scene by looking for shapes, patterns, repetition, and movement between the objects and the water.

We’ll start with a short demo, make a few quick studies, then settle into a longer drawing of your own.

First up: Basic Figure Drawing, beginning 10.1. Over four weeks, Mary will take you through gesture, contour, shape, measuring, value, form, and finally composition, helping you see the figure as a whole instead of a collection of mysterious elbows and knees! Perfect for beginners AND anyone whose figure drawing muscles could use a stretch.

Then, just as you’re getting going...add color!

Mary’s Pastel class begins 10.29, right after the Figure Drawing class wraps up. Take one, take both, and make yourself a whole little Mary Shea Thursday morning art season this October and November!

You’ve got the basics, now build on them!

If you’ve taken Beginning Wheel or have prior wheel throwing experience and you’re ready to get a little more ambitious, Beginning Wheel 2 is the next step.

You’ll work on taller cylinders, bigger bowls, plates, lids, and surface techniques like sgraffito, slip trailing, brushwork, and inlay, with plenty of time to practice and get more confident at the wheel.
