The FIFA World Cup has finally kicked off!
CHIKIRI & The School of TAIKO performed at the Seattle Stadium for the Seattle's first FIFA World Cup match!

The stadium was packed with an incredible crowd of 66,775 spectators! And huge crowd of soccer funs stopped by, cheering and dancing along with us!

We will be back there for the June 24th game!

いよいよFIFAワールドカップが開幕しましたね♬
６戦が開催予定のシアトルでは、昨日、６月１５日に初戦が行われ、66,775名の観客でスタジアムが埋め尽くされました！

私たちも会場を太鼓で盛り上げてきましたよ～
たくさんのサッカーファンの皆さんが足を止めてくださり、歓声を上げたり一緒に踊ったりと試合前から大盛り上がりでした！

6月24日の試合でも再び演奏します！

Crossed the Puget Sound to Bremerton! I had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Olympic College's AANHPI event.
A peaceful town and such warm-hearted people... No matter which school I visit, each has its own unique charm and atmosphere. I always look forward to these new encounters.
The delicious food and the stunning views on the way, it was an amazing performance trip!
See you next year! 🎶

ピュージェット湾を越えて、ブレマートンへ!
オリンピックカレッジで開催されたAANHPIのイベントでも演奏してきましたよ！

のどかな街並み、温かな人々……。
どこの学校に出かけても、その土地や学校ならではの独自の雰囲気があり、いつも新しい出会いを心から楽しみにしています。

美味しいお食事もいただき、往復の美しい景色を楽しみながらの素晴らしい遠征演奏となりました。
また来年お会いできるのを楽しみにしています！🎶

We were also honored to be invited to perform at the AANHPI event held at the City of Issaquah - Government Community Center♬
A diverse lineup of cultural performances took place one after another, and the booths surrounding the performance space were packed with so many visitors.
May has been a whirlwind, but we are already looking forward to bringing Taiko to audiences far and wide, from west to east, again next year! 🥰

ステージでは次々と各国の素晴らしいパフォーマンスが披露され、演奏スペースをぐるりと囲んだカルチャーブースにも、たくさんの方が訪れて大賑わい！

怒涛の5月はあっという間・・・
来年も西に東に南に北に・・・、たくさんの場所へ太鼓の響きをお届けできることを今から楽しみにしています！

May and June have been filled with so many fun and exciting performance opportunities, which is why my Facebook updates have been a bit delayed... 💦
For AANHPI Heritage Month, we are invited back to perform at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, our state capital! The event was hosted by the Japanese Tomodachi Club every year.
Thank you for having us and sending over all the beautiful photos. We are already looking forward to rocking the stage together again next year!♬

< School Assemblies Tour to Colville, WA >
We done the school assembly tour in Colville, WA—a 6-hour drive from Seattle, right near the Canadian border and Montana state line! 🚗

At the two elementary schools we visited, we were welcomed by wonderful staff and energetic children who fully enjoyed the sounds of Japanese Taiko drums and traditional dance. 🥁✨

With a 12-hour round trip, it became an overnight journey, but it brings us so much joy to deliver our program to communities far outside of Seattle!

We travel for school assemblies and festival performances not just within Washington State, but beyond. Please feel free to contact us for bookings! 💕

シアトルから車を走らせること6時間。カナダ国境とモンタナ州境にほど近い街、コルビルへ学校公演に行ってきました！🚙

2つの小学校での公演では、どちらも温かいスタッフの皆さまと元気いっぱいの子供たちに迎えられ、日本の太鼓の音色と踊りを存分に楽しんでいただきました。

往復12時間の長距離移動ということもあり、今回は一泊二日の旅となり、現地での食事も楽しんできましたよ。
シアトルから離れた地域の子供たちにもプログラムを届けられることは、私たちにとって大きな喜びです！

We hosted another school assembly, for an elementary school in Seattle. Thank you so much for having us!
Over the past 16 years, we have seen many school buildings get rebuilt or remodeled. This school was no exception—it features a beautiful and highly functional design.

ここ16年の間に多くの公立学校の建て替えやリニューアルが進められてきており、今回の学校も、非常に美しく、機能的な校舎でした。

< Year End Special Workshop by Taiyo Onoda from KODO!>
We were incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to get instruction by Taiyo Onoda-san, one of main members of KODO!

Warming up exercises before using Taiko also great - challenging time!😳
After the two-hour session, all the participants looked full of energy and eagerly looking forward to deepening their learning in the future lessons. We are excited to see everyone's performances at the regional events in coming new year!🥰

この度、鼓童の主要メンバーである小野田太陽氏にご指導いただくという、大変貴重な機会に恵まれました！

バチを持ち太鼓を打つまでのウォーミングアップから非常に有意義で、かつ刺激的な時間となりました！😳
2時間のセッション後、参加した太鼓の学校の生徒さんたちは、エネルギーに満ち溢れ、今後のレッスンでさらに学びを深めることを心待ちにしている様子でした♬
来年開催される地域イベントでのみんなのパフォーマンスが今からとても楽しみです！
テクニックではなく体にしみ込んだ感性からにじみ出る人間味が太鼓の魅力を増幅させるはず。
