Not two, not three, but FIVE members of our Wolf Pack Team were twinning yesterday… even from across the country!

When Sensei noticed that she, Mr. Salonga, Ms. Zen, and Ms. Grillo were all wearing their custom CRJS Converse, she took a photo and sent it to Mr. Hackett, our beloved former Jesuit Volunteer from Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest. The photo she got back? Mr. Hackett coincidentally wearing the SAME pair!

The power of our CRJS community is so strong, from our current faculty and staff in Seattle, all the way to our friend Mr. Hackett in Boston! Once a Wolf, always a Wolf 🐺💙💛

As the school year winds down, Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle’s Wolf Pack hit the trail for a day of community, reflection, and outdoor adventure.

This first group hike was a true team effort, led by Ms. McRae, Ms. Silva, and Mr. Salonga, with President Mr. Hogan and his dog, Jazzy, who quickly earned the title of unofficial mascot for the day. Fourteen students took on the popular Rattlesnake Ledge trail, encouraging one another every step of the way.

With sweeping views at the summit and plenty of moments to connect along the trail, the day brought our mission to life: forming young people who grow in confidence, community, and care for one another.

We’re excited for this to be the first of many hikes, with plans already forming for the next adventure in the new school year!

Big thanks to Robbie Bach for an unforgettable visit yesterday!

We were delighted to welcome Robbie Bach, former Chief Xbox Officer, who shared lessons on leadership through his 3P framework: purpose, principles, and priorities. Drawing from his time leading the Xbox team and his ongoing work as a civic leader, speaker, and author, Robbie challenged our students to think deeply about how they lead, serve, and make decisions.

Thank you for the time you spent with our students, and for showing them how strong values can shape both a career and a community 💙💛

We were recently honored to welcome Ed Taylor and Archini Koushik from the University of Washington to campus. They joined our students in a thoughtful discussion about the college experience, learning beyond the classroom, and what it means to build new pathways in education.

Connections like these open doors, build understanding, and fuel what’s possible. Thank you both for coming! 💜💛

Last week, we gathered for All in a Year’s Work: an inspiring evening celebrating the growth and accomplishments of our Student Associates.

Through thoughtful presentations and reflections, students shared how their Corporate Work Study experiences have shaped their skills, confidence, and vision for the future.

We are deeply grateful to our Corporate Work Study Partners, whose mentorship and commitment make these opportunities possible, and to the families, faculty, staff, and community members who came together to celebrate this important milestone.

Here’s to honoring a meaningful year of hard work and the bright futures ahead!

🌱 Wednesday’s field trip was filled with discovery and hands-on learning!

Our students went behind the scenes at the South Treatment Plant in Renton and explored the CitySoil Farm, getting a closer look at sustainability in action. From scavenger hunt wins (and a bouquet to match!) to digging into ecosystems and even having some fun with bugs, it was a unique day full of curiosity, teamwork, and real-world connections.

Huge thanks to educator Gabie Brosas and gardener Ari de Leña for guiding such an engaging experience!

AANHPI Heritage Month at Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle: Belonging, Courage, and Community

During Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we honor the stories, cultures, and contributions of AANHPI communities and celebrate the power of belonging.

This month, our own Manami Imaoka (aka Sensei), Executive Administrator at Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle, had the honor of accepting the City of Renton’s Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month Proclamation on behalf of our community. Standing before the Renton City Council, Manami shared a reflection that speaks to the heart of who we are.

“Ten years ago, I was all alone and didn’t know anyone. Now I have so many friends, and I call Renton my home.”

Her words remind us that heritage is not only about where we come from, but also about the communities we build through courage, welcome, and solidarity. At Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle, we are called to be a place where every student, family, and staff member is seen, valued, and empowered to belong.

As AANHPI Heritage Month comes to an end, may we continue to listen, learn, and walk together as one wolf pack, building a more just and inclusive world.

Join us in celebrating someone who keeps Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle grounded, running, and cared for in ways big and small: this month’s Golden Foot Award winner, Marina Juarez 👣💛

Marina is at the heart of our community. As both a staff member and a CRJS parent, she brings a deep, personal commitment to our students and families that shows in everything she does.

It is an understatement to say that Marina is the steady force responsible for maintaining our team’s sanity. She’s our first line of support, our admin consultant, a go-to for students’ emotional and social needs, and a trusted person for all of us to check in with. She constantly solves problems before most of us know they exist, and she’s always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it.

Her impact reaches far beyond the day-to-day. From rebuilding our enrollment process to strengthening academic team reporting and transforming our PowerSchool systems, Marina has made lasting improvements that help our school thrive.

She’s a trusted guide, a constant source of light, and yes, a total rockstar. Thank you, Marina, for showing up for all of us in the ways you do. We are so grateful. Congratulations on this well-deserved Golden Foot Award 💙💛
