I spent a full year in 2024 in Africa working with the youth. It has been a year of learning. The challenge is great and the work will take time. Three main challenges we need to overcome in 2025:
1. Golf has always been the sport of the elites. Therefore there is less interest from the public and the youth.
2. The lack of infrastructure (only 3 golf courses) in a country of the size of New Mexico with a population of 25 millions makes it almost impossible to grow the game among the youth.
3. The lack of golf equipment is another hurdle. With the average income of $125/month it is difficult to ask a parent to get his child into golf and invest in golf equipment when the kid can go out and play soccer with his friends at no cost.

Our strategy needs to change and we will need the help of all our global partners to address these challenges. In the immediate future we can address one of those needs by providing FREE equipment to a child who wants to learn the game. This will allow us to help the children who are close to these courses.
I look forward to working with our partners and fulfilling our mission to use this great game to raise up future leaders through the like skills of perseverance, integrity, patience, sportsmanship, honesty, etc…

Let’s all PRAY for FLORIDA. Today I am in Africa but I cannot help but think about the State where I lived and worked for so many years. I pray for all my friends in Florida. May God protect Florida ahead of Milton which meteorologists describe as the storm of the century. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
