CBC MESA is creating meaningful pathways for students through campus visits, with five trips during the 2025–2026 academic year to universities such as WSU, UW, CWU, and EWU.
With help from the EWU MESA team, students experienced hands-on STEM activities, including a workshop on handprint microbes and a soap‑making activity. In addition to a campus tour, students also visited the Robotics and Mechanical Engineering Technology labs, guided by EWU professor Dr. Jennifer Leaf.
They also had the opportunity to connect with CBC MESA alumni now thriving at EWU, making this visit extra meaningful. We look forward to seeing how CBC MESA continues to explore college pathways and help students succeed in higher education!

Today was Washington MESA Day, and it was a powerful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and STEM!
Students from across the state came together to showcase a year of hands-on learning, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving through their community-focused projects.
From pitching human-centered design solutions to cheering each other on, this day reflects what MESA is all about: community and collective impact. Seeing so many smiling faces says it all!
Thank you to Green River College for hosting, and to the amazing MESA alumni who returned to volunteer and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
MESA Day is truly a team effort and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved!

“I hope to grow as a leader, improve my communication skills, and learn from the people I mentor.”
“I hope this experience helps me become more patient, understanding, and confident while making a positive difference in someone’s journey.”
“I can be helpful to the community as a mentor by sharing my experiences, offering guidance, and being someone others feel comfortable talking to. I can support students academically, encourage them when things feel overwhelming, and help them find resources so they don’t feel alone.“
By serving together in local K–12 classrooms, students from Southwest MESA and Clark College MESA have built a strong, collaborative community rooted in a shared commitment to STEM equity.
