A Memorial Mass for Sister Ilene Clark, SNJM—-longtime and much-beloved Holy Names Academy staff member and graduate of the Class of 1943--will be said in Seattle on Friday, March 9, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 18th Avenue East and Aloha Street. A reception will follow at Holy Names Academy, 728 21st Ave. East.
In Spokane, Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, January 20, at Brookdale South Regal (3117 E. Chaser Lane), with Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery.

With sadness mixed with joy, we share the news that Sister Ilene Clark, SNJM—-a 1943 graduate of Holy Names Academy who went on to a long and much-beloved career at the school, most recently as Planned Giving Director--died peacefully last night at Hospice House in Spokane. Holy Names Academy was the center of Sister Ilene’s life for several decades of her full life. Arrangements for funeral services are still being planned. It is anticipated that a Memorial Mass will occur in Seattle; details will be announced as soon as they are available.

Today was our Forecasting Assembly! We have an array of new courses being offered, as well as the classics, all of which can be found in the 2018/19 course catalog! 📘Students, be sure to submit your application for those courses that require one by January 24th! 📝 Thank you to our teachers and Mr. Van Gogh for leading the assembly and keeping us laughing!
Lily Gunning ‘18 won the individual all-around competition in HNA’s gymnastics meet against Ballard, Garfield, and Roosevelt this past week! Go Cougars!

Varsity Basketball took home the W in their game against Ingraham. Hannah Martin ‘20 was the Player of the Game with a whopping 15 points! Final score was 66-31, Cougars🏀
Gymnastics won their meet with a team score of 169.55, and Lily Gunning ‘18 placed first in the all-around competition with a score of 35.95! 🏆 Ballard hosted the event, also inviting Garfield and Roosevelt to compete. Thank you for hosting, Ballard! 🤸♀️ Go Cougars!

Sport and Spirit (SNS) Winter Assembly featured season updates from our winter sports teams and our annual game of Dance Jeopardy! The Skippers (the senior class) took home the win last night, as they moon-walked well ahead of the competition. Honorable mentions go to the Faculty team and O'Dea High School boys!
