A wine tasting to remember! Our recent gathering in Seattle was dedicated to bringing our ‘80s and ‘90s SAAS Alumni together, the founding families who helped shape the Seattle Academy spirit from the very beginning. It was so wonderful to see our alumni reconnect with one another and some of their favorite faculty!

Shout out to some of the SAAS OG’s who came out to hang with us, including Julie ‘88, Morgan ‘90, David ‘94, and Emily ‘98!

And for the record, like fine wine, this crew only gets better with time. “Not old, vintage!” 🍷😉

Seattle Academy graduate Kyliah McRoy ‘24 had the incredible honor of representing the USA on the World Juniors Ultimate team this past summer! Competing against top talent from around the globe in Birmingham, England—essentially the Olympics for ultimate—was a dream come true for Kyliah. Congratulations to Seattle Academy alumna Loretta Douglas '08 on becoming part owner of Tom Douglas restaurants! 🙌

Loretta recently came back to campus for our , where she joined a panel of farmers, entrepreneurs, and other restaurant owners who discussed eating and communities.

Seattle chef's daughter joins the family business and shares a treasured recipe Seattle chef Tom Douglas' daughter, Loretta, who napped in an empty wine box at the Dahlia Lounge as a baby, is now part-owner of her family's business.

It was a pleasure seeing alumni of all ages share stories of their time at SAAS. From reminiscing about classes with Mark Hoover to time spent as an Onion, it’s amazing to witness these connections persisting even after leaving SAAS.

A big congratulations to Seattle Academy alumna Zoe Bishop '22, along with seven Cornell University classmates, who spent the summer in Eswatini, Africa, building a 100-meter suspension bridge with Engineers in Action! This bridge will provide safe access to medical care and markets, transforming the community's daily life. As the quality control manager, Zoe was proud to be part of a project that will have a lasting impact. Incredible work, Zoe! 🌍👷‍♀️

✨Seattle Academy Alumni Spotlight: Rebecca Marowitz '13 ✨

"In my senior year as a student facilitator, I was assigned a group of freshmen to mentor during their first year of high school. I remember discovering what it meant to truly be there for others and help them feel comfortable in a new environment, surrounded by older students and more challenging classes.

Today, as I finish up my master's degree in couples and family therapy (right across the street at Seattle U!), I reflect on my time as a student facilitator with pride. That experience introduced me to the beautiful feeling of helping others in my community, and I can't wait to spend my career as a therapist doing just that.”
