I’m working on PDFs to show the scope and sequence of each course. Swipe to see weeks 5-10. This helps give the whole picture of what we cover, as well as helps people determine which level is right for them. These will go on the website. I also have an assessment I can provide upon request to help with placement.

These pictures are our celebratory class pics after finishing 3 levels of French in 2022! All of these ladies committed to learning French in 2022 and I’m so proud of the progress they’ve made. One of them went from never having taken French before to being able to express her thoughts and opinions in complex sentences (which she got to practice in Senegal!). The other two had taken French before, one in high school and one with Rosetta Stone, and wanted to both review and improve their French. They can now enjoy TV shows in French and discuss a variety of topics. If you’d like to start or continue your journey with French or Spanish this year, we have classes beginning February 21st (link in bio). 🎉

I just finished teaching a 3-week Language and Culture class at the University of Washington. What a great time! I had the best students (just missing two of them in this pic) and enjoyed hearing their impressions of Seattle and American culture. Through them I also learned a lot about their home countries, Japan and Taiwan. The class was over 3hrs long M-F which was super fun, but I was happy to sleep in this morning 😄. Now focusing on gearing up for some more online French and Spanish classes for Culture Chameleon Language Institute beginning in October.

This week we wrapped up another beginner French course with this lovely group of students! One student is taking French for fun, one for travel to Senegal for humanitarian work, and one for acting in a film she wrote and is producing that will be in French and English . We’ve shared a lot of laughs together and had some great discussions. I’m happy they’re all moving on to the intermediate class!

This summer we have intermediate French on Tue/Thur 9am(PDT)/12pm(EDT) starting next week, and advanced French on Mon/Wed 6pm(PDT)/9pm(EDT) starting in July. I didn’t advertise for this summer because we’re operating with a bit of a flexible schedule (taking some weeks off) due to vacations students planned. I’m also taking the summer to make some changes to my website and work on marketing, but I wanted to offer my current students a chance to move on and they all accepted! If you would like to join, send me a private message and I can send you the schedule and tell you more about it. If you’d rather start in the fall, let me know what days and times you’re interested so you can weigh in on the schedule.

The winter beginner Spanish classes with Lexi were a lot of fun. On the last day of classes, students did presentations about themselves and their interests. They did such a great job! In one of the classes, they did a photo scavenger hunt to review vocabulary. In another class, they reviewed by playing a game of jeopardy.
➡️ Spring classes start next week for French and Spanish 🎉

Can you guess where in France this is? A lot of the best destinations in France are off the beaten path. Plus, they’re more affordable! The further off the beaten path you go, the better it is to know a little French to get by and to enhance your experience. The French really appreciate it when tourists make an effort to speak the language, even if just a little. Our next French and Spanish classes start the week of April 11th. We even have one beginner French class that works with a lot of different time zones (8am HST, 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 7pm BST).

Our classes are online, but our community exists outside of Zoom as well. Because our classes are small, we get to know each other well. Not everyone is able to meet up in person, as we’ve had students in WA, MI, HI, AK, Mexico, and the UK. However, we can have local meet ups, like this little get together in Seattle, when some of us met for the first time in person. We love hearing when students exchange contact information at the end of class, or when they meet up to celebrate their progress and accomplishments. It also touches our hearts when students get teary-eyed on the last day of class. We love our community of culture chameleons! 😊
