This past Sunday my students celebrated their achievements and practiced their performance skills by participating in our Spring Recital. It was also a very special performance for me because it marked my 40th student recital since I began my teaching career in 2011.
I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who has who has taken lessons and given me the opportunity to play guitar, ukulele, and write songs everyday. One of my musical heroes Dizzy Gillespie inspired me to be a teacher, and helping other musicians learn their craft has been so rewarding and has challenged me to improve just as much or maybe even more than my students. Many thanks to all of you who have supported me over the past 15 years! Let's do 40 more!

This past weekend Mighty-O Donuts hosted the 39th student recital for Jared Cortese Music. I can't believe how many of these we've put on the last 12 years. Must be having fun!
Congrats to all of the students on the amazing performances! In total we had 16 performers take the stage!

Join A Band Camp 2025 this summer was sooo fun and everyone crushed it at the performance! I love how this community shows up for each other. I really wanted to try cooking something new this year, and I had a blast making BBQ chicken on the grill for everyone!

I'm a little behind on my posts, but our Spring recital at BoneYard Seattle was awesome! Great job to all the performers and congrats to William and Margaret on their final recital. They are both off to spread their musical wings in college!

Join A Band Camp 2024 is a wrap!
I barely remember a time when collaborating and sharing music with others hasn't been a major part of my life. Getting the opportunity to share what I have learned with others, promoting vulnerability through art, and helping my community share the things they care about in a really cool way has been such an awesome experience. I love that this community keeps growing and growing. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Premiere: Warren Dunes' "Freestyle Day Spa" Is a Sunny & Spirited Reminder That "There's Plenty of Time Left" - Atwood Magazine
Seattle trio Warren Dunes remind us that there's plenty of time left in "Freestyle Day Spa," a soothing, psych-soaked, beach rock reverie off their second album 'Aquamarine' that comes to life with a joie de vivre attitude and a smoldering sound.
