Seaside Middle School February Attendance Update
and 🌊 The Trimester 3 "Big Splash" Attendance Challenge! 🌊

In February, 54% of our students attended 90% or more of school days. While this is a small increase from January, it represents a positive trend. We are moving in the right direction, and we are so proud of our students for their persistence and our families for their partnership. If your student(s) are one of the 54% (or showed 5% or more growth from January), be on the lookout for a coupon for a sweet treat from Bruce's Candy Kitchen!

🌊Sharks, it is time to turn up the heat—and then cool down Mrs. Crozier, Ms. Gage, and SRO Gagnon!

We have a massive goal for Trimester 3, and the reward is legendary. If 80% or more of our students maintain 90% or higher attendance for the rest of the trimester, we get to dump a bucket of water on our administrators and SRO Gagnon during our annual Field Day!

Why Every Day Counts
To get that bucket of water flying, we need every Shark on board. Missing just 2 days a month (~10%) drops you below the goal line.

Be a Fin-mate: Your attendance helps the whole school reach the reward. We win (and get wet) as a team!

The 90% Rule: Showing up 9 out of 10 days builds the reliability you'll need for high school, college, and your future career.

Stay Ready: Consistent attendance means you don’t miss out on sports, clubs, or the learning that keeps you on track for graduation.

How Families Can Help Us Hit 80%
Target the Streak: Encourage your Shark to see how many full weeks they can go in a row!

Communication is Key: If your student is truly sick, keep them home and let us know—but help them jump right back into the routine as soon as they recover.

Routine Matters: Good sleep and healthy habits make it easier to be "Goal-Ready" every morning.

4th Annual CSI Forensic Science Day Camp
Teens ages 14–18 are invited to step into the world of forensic science at the 4th Annual CSI Forensic Science Day Camp, happening June 22–26, 2026, at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds. Camp runs daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will take on the role of crime scene investigators and use real forensic techniques through hands-on activities like fingerprint analysis, DNA profiling, blood spatter examination, footprint casting, and mock crime scene investigations. Applications must be received by May 30.
