Just a few weeks ago I found these books at the thrift. I couldn’t wait to get them home and put them under my coffee table for students who are waiting during piano lessons. I did not know then how much having these books would mean to me now.
If you don’t know me, I am a huge Dolly fan. I love everything about her, from her rhinestones and big hair to her wholesome messages and iconic songs. Most of all, I love that she was always fearlessly herself.
That is something I have always wanted for the kids in my studio— to be able to come to piano lessons and feel safe enough to be nothing but themselves. After all, the world doesn’t need more kids trying to fit a mold, it needs more kids who know exactly who they are and aren’t afraid to be it.
So thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that it’s okay to be a little different, to dream big, to use our gifts, and to be unapologetically ourselves. I hope I can pass even a little bit of that message on to the kids who walk through my studio door.🦋❤️
