Do you know the difference between a shamrock and a four-leaf clover? One is associated with the Christian/Catholic Saint Patrick, and the other is associated with good luck. Both are associated with Ireland.

In the United States, St. Patrick's Day is not usually a religious celebration. Instead, it is intended as a celebration of Irish heritage. Unfortunately, the focus is often on superficial and/or stereotypical things (beer, leprechauns, or the color green) instead of authentic Irish culture.
