We know summer vacation just started, but we also know how fast family calendars fill up! The official 2026-2027 school calendar is ready so you can lock in your dates and plan ahead.

Go ahead and save or screenshot these major breaks:

🎒 First Day of School: Wednesday, August 12th
🍁 Thanksgiving Break: November 23rd – 27th
🎄 Christmas Holiday: December 21st – January 4th
🌸 Spring Break: March 22nd – 26th
☀️ Last Day of School: Friday, May 21st

As we head into summer break, we want to give a massive shoutout and a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Searcy Public School District and Chartwells! 🖤❤️

Our district’s dedication to our kids doesn't end when the final school bell rings. We are so incredibly grateful for a community that steps up to take care of our families all year long, ensuring our students stay happy, healthy, and fed over the summer months.

The Summer Meal Service is back, and we encourage all families to take advantage of this wonderful program! It is completely free, open to all children under 18, and incredibly convenient with curbside pickup.

📍 Where to Pick Up:
Searcy High School (Back of school, by bus depot)
Southwest Middle School (Front of school)
Sidney Deener Elementary (Front of school)

📅 When: Thursdays from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Starting June 4th!)

Note: 1 pick-up day covers 10 full meals (5 breakfasts and 5 lunches) for each child!

There is no ID, paperwork, or sign-up required, and children do not have to attend Searcy Public Schools to receive meals.

📚 Ready for another summer reading adventure?

Children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to participate in the White House Summer Reading Challenge! Read and track 12 books of your choice between June 1 and September 4.

Participants who complete the challenge will receive a personalized certificate, a commemorative America 250 bookmark, a special prize link, and be entered for a chance to visit Washington, D.C. and the White House with a chaperone.

✨ Best of all, the books you read for the White House challenge can also count toward our 2026 Reading Challenge!
