This summer, Seth Roberts interned at Celestial Works LLC, a small startup, where he had the opportunity to take a feature from research to production.
His main project involved researching the feasibility of an AI-powered photo calorie estimation feature. After determining its viability, he developed and implemented the feature using the company’s adopted AI tools.
Working in a lean startup environment allowed Seth to take on significant responsibility and gain hands-on experience in multiple stages of software development. Despite challenges learning new tools and navigating an unstructured codebase, he strengthened his skills in research, team management, and AI-assisted development.
The experience provided valuable insight into what it takes to turn an idea into a working product, including the challenges and learning opportunities along the way.
