Before the disciples were asked to go, they were promised power.

Before they were sent, they were filled.

That order matters.

Jesus did not tell His disciples to change the world by relying on their own courage, wisdom, ability, or determination. He promised them the power of the Holy Spirit.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…”
Acts 1:8

While miracles have ceased, the same God who called those first disciples is still at work in His people today. Jesus promised us His Spirit.

Whatever this new week holds, you do not have to face it alone. You do not have to manufacture the strength you need. You do not have to carry every responsibility in your own power. The Holy Spirit has been given to those who have obeyed the gospel.

So before you rush into the demands of the day, pause.

Receive His strength.
Receive His wisdom.
Receive His peace.
Receive His help.

Then go.

The calling may be bigger than your ability, but it is never bigger than God’s provision. (1 Cor. 10:13)

Begin this week not by asking, “What can I accomplish?” but by remembering, “Who is with me?” (Ps 23)

Walk into this week dependent on Him, empowered by His Spirit, and ready to be His witness wherever He sends you.

You are not going in your own strength when you go with God.

Weekend Challenge

When the Spirit Says “Go”

In Acts 16, Paul and his companions were “forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.” Then they tried to go into Bithynia, “but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.” Finally, through a vision, the Lord directed them to Macedonia (Acts 16:6-10).

Sometimes the most important guidance we receive is a closed door.

This weekend, sit with Acts 16:6-10 and ask:
Where might the Spirit currently be closing a door that I keep trying to push open?

Am I listening as carefully for the Spirit’s “no” as I am for His “yes”?

What new direction might God be preparing if I will release my preferred plans?

The early church learned that the Spirit’s leading is both precise and good. He still is with us Christians today.

Remember to like, follow, and share for others to benefit.

MidWeek Peak

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Power

In Acts 4, the religious leaders were astonished by Peter and John. The text says they “perceived that they were uneducated, common men… and they recognized that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

That is still the secret.

God does not primarily look for the most polished or the most credentialed. He looks for people who have been with Jesus — people who have spent time in His presence and then simply open their mouths.

You don’t have to be extraordinary.
�You just have to stay close to the One who is.

Today, before the demands of the day pull you in every direction, take a few quiet minutes to be with Jesus again. The same Spirit who filled the early church is still available to ordinary people like us.

Thought of the Day

Fresh Mercy for a New Week

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Whatever last week held—progress or setbacks, joy or weariness—today opens with fresh mercy.

You do not have to carry yesterday’s failures into this new week. The Lord’s kindness is already waiting for you.

Begin the day simply: thank Him for new mercies, then walk forward in them.

Have a grace-filled Monday.

Weekend Challenge

What Will You Do With the Truth?

Near the end of John’s Gospel, Pilate asks the haunting question: “What is truth?” (John 18:38)
He stood face-to-face with the One who is the Truth—and walked away.

John’s entire account presses the same question on every reader, “What will you do with Jesus?”

This weekend, slow down with one of these passages:

John 1:1-18 (the Word became flesh)
John 3:1-21 (you must be born again)
John 14:1-6 (I am the way, the truth, and the life)
John 20:24-31 (blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed)

Reflection questions:

Where am I still holding Jesus at a distance, like Pilate?

What truth about Jesus do I need to embrace more fully this week?

How can I respond in faith rather than simply acknowledge the facts?

Truth is not merely something to understand. It is Someone to follow.

Mid-Week Peak

The Shepherd Who Knows Your Name

Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me… and I lay down my life for the sheep.” (John 10:14-15)

In a world full of noise and competing voices, the Good Shepherd still calls His sheep by name. He doesn’t lead from a distance. He knows the particular burdens you carry this week—the quiet worries, the unanswered questions, the places that still hurt.

He laid down His life so that you could be brought safely into the fold.

Take a quiet moment today. Listen for the Shepherd’s voice. He is still calling, still leading, still keeping.

You are not forgotten. You are known.

One more example of how great heaven will be!

We’ll all be together for eternity with our Lord, then. But for now, we celebrate the time together studying, worshipping, and strengthening each other.
