Big news for our pharmacy family! 🎓💊 🦬

Huge congratulations to P3 student Hunter Corker for being selected as one of only 29 pharmacy students nationwide to join the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Aspiring Academics Program!

Over the next year, Hunter will explore the many possibilities of a career in academic pharmacy through guided learning modules, mentorship, networking, a collaborative group project and involvement with AACP, all culminating in attendance at Pharmacy Education 2027 ( ) and the Teachers' Seminar in Toronto, Canada.

🎉 What an incredible, action-packed week at the Harding University College of Pharmacy! We are officially ready to kick off a brand-new academic year! 🩺✨

Here is a look back at a week full of community, growth, and celebration:
📚 Faculty & Staff Professional Development: We started the week investing in our amazing faculty and staff as they geared up to support, mentor, and inspire our students for the year ahead.
🤝 P1 Orientation & Student Org Fair: Our incoming P1 class wrapped up their orientation week with a bang! They got a taste of everything HUCOP life has to offer, connecting with our student organizations and finding ways to get involved.
🥼 The White Coat Ceremony: We capped off the week with an unforgettable milestone—our P1s officially received their white coats! Watching these future pharmacists take their first big step into the profession was truly inspiring.

Now, the stage is set! EVERYONE comes back on Monday, and we could not be more excited to fill the halls with energy, learning, and fellowship again.

Friday was a special day at Harding University College of Pharmacy! For eight weeks this summer, six undergraduate students participated in an immersive, pre-pharmacy internship, and they wrapped up the experience with presenting their longitudinal research.

We are immensely proud of the dedication, curiosity, and hard work these students showed throughout the program. As they take their next academic steps, we want to wish each of them the absolute best in all of their future endeavors!

We hope this summer was just the first chapter of their journey with us, and we look forward to hopefully welcoming them back to campus as incoming HUCOP pharmacy students in the near future. The future of healthcare is bright with leaders like these!

Our summer interns are preparing to wrap up their experience with us next week, but are making the most of their last little bit of time with us!

Pre-pharmacy students shadowing faculty at Unity sites the past month: Dr. Barrett Carter with Family Medicine team, Dr. Daniel Bailey in the Critical Care Unit, Dr. Mallory Turner on a cardiac unit, and Dr. Jessica Carter in Family Medicine Continuity Clinic. Also, our SCRIPT Interns conducting bench research under the supervision of Dr. Dan Atchley.

A group of HUCOP faculty and administrators recently returned from Grapevine, TX where they attended the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Annual Meeting.

Several of the HUCOP attendees presented at the meeting including:

Dr. Jessica Carter presented a poster on the Pre-Pharmacy Summer Internship. The poster, co-authored with Drs. Charlie Wright & Barrett Carter, describes the implementation of the pre-pharmacy summer program and the impact it has made on participating undergraduate students’ choice in continuing to pursue pharmacy.

Dr. Courtney Selby presented an oral presentation entitled "The Missing Architecture of the Toolkit: How MAL+MTP Make Clinical Reasoning Visible and Assessable."

Dr. Ellen Jones presented a topical roundtable discussion entitled "Rehumanizing Academic Pharmacy: Integrating Arts and Humanities into Pharmacy Education."
