It is important to always check labels when buying items over the counter! Always follow the directions and don’t hesitate to ask your local pharmacist any questions you may have!

Over-the-counter medications are convenient and effective—but taking more than directed or combining products can lead to serious harm. Many products contain the same active ingredients (like acetaminophen), which can increase your risk of overdose without you realizing it. Take Charge Tip: Always read the label and stick to recommended doses. Not sure what’s safe? Ask your pharmacist!

We had a great turnout at our March APhA-ASP General Body Meeting as Dexcom representative, Justin Flores, joined us to discuss how continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology is transforming diabetes management. CGMs, like the Dexcom G7, allow patients to monitor their glucose levels continuously throughout the day, providing real-time data, trends, and alerts that help improve glucose control and overall quality of life. Learning about this technology helps student pharmacists better understand how we can support patients using these devices in the future.
A huge thank you to the Dexcom team for visiting, providing Firehouse Subs and Dexcom G7 sensors for students to wear over the next 10 days, giving us the opportunity to experience CGM technology firsthand. This hands-on experience helps us better understand what patients experience and prepares us to educate and assist them in practice. Thank you to everyone who came to the meeting and participated, we appreciate your engagement and enthusiasm! 💚
