Christy (Hutson) Lucich and Jillian Heffington discovered they were both graduates of HU CSD’s undergraduate program as they were part of an SLP panel at the School SLP Conference at Vanderbilt that included four universities, and 750 attendees from 26 states and Australia. Christy said “Just another reminder what a great program Harding has and how well it prepared us for where we are today!“ We love to hear from our former students and aren’t a bit surprised to learn that they are out in the field doing great things! We love Harding connections!

The Sierras finished their bootcamp/orientation week yesterday with an IPE panel discussion about working together as a team for our patients and hearing from HU Executive Vice President Dr. Thompson, aka Dr. T, who shared about cultural responsiveness and difficult conversations in healthcare. Our lunch was provided by Pediatrics Plus with an extra special addition of three of our alums (Kaleb McLarty, Bethany Brown, and Mackenzie Carroll) who shared about their work with Peds Plus as well as some personal tips and tricks for grad school. What a joy to continue relationships our former students now colleagues! We are very grateful for the way Peds Plus has supported our program and are thrilled to find many of our HU SLP grads serving with them. Next week, classes!
