The Surfrider Foundation condemns President Trump's executive orders that abandon the United States' international leadership role in addressing the climate crisis — the greatest threat to American life, property, and prosperity in our lifetimes. Our opposition comes after yet another consecutive record-breaking year of rising global temperatures and devastating climate-related disasters, including the recent Los Angeles wildfires and rapidly intensifying hurricanes that ravaged Southeastern states.

By leaving the Paris Climate Agreement, repealing ocean protections against offshore drilling, and rolling back already budgeted and allocated funding from the bi-partisan Inflation Reduction Act, President Trump is putting America last in developing the clean energy economy that will power the future.

A huge loss to our community. I know you’re shredding beautiful warm water waves in heaven, Tony🌊😔

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we share with you the news that our dear friend Tony Soriano passed away a few hours ago due to complications of Cancer. We are all shocked and saddened by this unfortunate event, especially since it happened so quickly. Please know he went quietly, without pain, and that he said to his family members at the end, "I am ready to go."

Tony worked passionately and tirelessly to support the Surfrider Foundation and his community in Huntington Beach. His generous heart and soul inspired everyone that surrounded him and he leaves behind a legacy that will long-serve to inspire and empower us to keep fighting for our Oceans & Waves.

There will be a Memorial Paddle-Out for Tony soon, we will announce the date in the coming days.

Please send your thoughts and prayers to his family and to his surrogate family and friends here at Surfrider. He will be missed immensely.

Trestles is saved FOREVER!❤️🌊

After a marathon campaign of more than 15 years, the battle to Save Trestles came to fruition today when Governor Newsom signed AB 1426 into law.  This new legislation will protect San Onofre State Beach and Trestles from any type of road construction.
