Congratulations to our amazing second grade teachers on being awarded a BayPort Credit Union Grant to support financial literacy in the classroom! 💰📚
This grant will provide valuable resources and hands-on learning opportunities that help students build important money management skills at an early age. We are proud of our teachers for seeking innovative ways to enrich learning and prepare our students for future success.

🍪⛏️ Cookie Mining in 4th Grade! 🌲
Our 4th graders became environmental scientists as they explored the effects of deforestation on Virginia’s natural resources through a hands-on cookie mining activity! Students mined chocolate chips from cookies to represent resource extraction, then examined how these activities can impact forests, wildlife habitats, soil, and water quality.
This engaging lesson helped students make real-world connections between human actions and environmental responsibility while practicing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Way to go, 4th graders, for digging into science and discovering the importance of protecting Virginia’s natural resources! 🌎💚

Mrs. Leach’s 5th graders were busy being scientists! 🧪🔬 Students investigated mixtures and solutions by observing, combining, and testing different materials to see how they behaved. They worked together to make observations, discuss their findings, and put their science skills into action. Hands-on learning makes science so much more meaningful—and fun! 💙

Seaford’s second graders kicked off their unit on Matter with a special visit from Master Gardener Mr. Criner!
Through engaging demonstrations and experiments, students observed how atoms move differently in solids, liquids, and gases and discovered how matter can change from one state to another.

Mrs. Stratton’s fifth-grade students have been busy putting the scientific method into practice! They started with a testable question: How many books can a paper tower hold?
Students designed, tested, observed, and learned from their results. The winning group constructed an incredible paper tower that held 47 books! 🤯📚
What an amazing example of creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on learning! 🌟
