The 2026 Patriot Award Dinner was a tremendous success.
Despite torrential rain, more than 280 guests gathered at the beautiful Crest Hollow Country Club to celebrate the enduring spirit of service, character, and commitment that defines our community.
Together, we honored the memories of our five beloved Seaford High School alumni who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We will always remember Thomas (Tommy) Haskell, Timothy (Timmy) Haskell, John Perry, Robert (Rob) Sliwak, and Michael Wittenstein. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy continue to inspire all that we do.
This year, six exceptional students joined the ranks of the Patriot Award Association, bringing the total number of Patriot Award recipients to 129 since the award's inception. The 2026 Patriot Award recipients are Emily Brown, Michelle Evangelista, Brian Falk, Paiten Haskell, Matthew Kind, and Valerie Martin. Each exemplifies the core values of Service, Character, and Commitment that the Patriot Award represents.
We were also proud to present the 2026 Honorary Patriot Awards to Dawn Haskell Carbone, Robert (Bob) Powell, and Bob Valvano, recognizing their extraordinary dedication and service to our community.
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Seaford High School 9/11 Memorial Committee and the Patriot Award, we are profoundly grateful to our families, friends, sponsors, elected officials, volunteers, and all who continue to support our mission. Because of your generosity and steadfast commitment, we ensure that the lives of Tommy, Timmy, John, Rob, and Michael will never be forgotten and that future generations will continue to embrace the values they embodied.
No day shall erase you from the memory of time.
