Space Center Houston’s Conrad Challenge, presented by Equinor, is an annual innovation and entrepreneurial competition inspired by Apollo 12 Charles “Pete” Conrad. The Conrad Challenge brings together a dynamic community of innovators and entrepreneurs driving a collaborative movement to develop extraordinary and viable sustainable solutions to benefit the planet. Teams of 2-5 students compete for

the opportunity to be recognized as Pete Conrad Scholars and awarded prizes including: scholarships, patent support and opportunities to grow their innovation into a real business. The Conrad Challenge was founded by Nancy Conrad in honor of her late husband, naval aviator, astronaut and third man to walk on the Moon, Charles "Pete" Conrad Jr..
