While we don’t want to completely discourage the visiting of waterfalls we find, I do want to emphasize that, outside of Dickerson Falls, the falls we find are in rough terrain not suitable for inexperienced people to visit.

I took this video after descending half way down the gorge to Cacophony Falls. It was more to show off the interesting geology but it does also provide a good look into the kind of terrain and vegetation I deal with to find falls.

Before I could even get to the gorge I had to brush crash through salal and evergreen huckleberries (no trail, just woods!), then carefully pick the best route to descend down a muddy and slippery hill. On the way back up, I had to use plants and branches to pull myself up. Slippery leaves + steep hill makes for a fun time.

If you must go, wear suitable shoes and clothing, don’t bring small kids, and make sure someone knows where you are. Most of these falls are located in areas with no cell phone reception.

Cacophony falls, loud as ever

Turns out Trickle Falls might be a misnomer! I first visited this fall in May when it was a peaceful trickle, but with winter rains it's a roaring fall.

Two new falls, both in the Bald Pt Vista "plateau" as I've been calling it.

First one is two tiers: first tier is 5' or less, bottom tier is around 10'. I'm calling this one "Murmur Falls" because of the interesting murmur caused by the echo of falling water.

The second one, Pebble Falls, is just barely 10'.

Both falls were pretty choked with dead branches and I gave them a clean up (but left the living plants alone).

Both are relatively easy to access, albeit locked behind a decent length walk, and have been added to our map!

Yet another waterfall in the Bald Pt Vista area! An unnamed stream from an unnamed pond/bog. Upper fall is around 10', the lower fall is only a few feet tall but forms a deep(ish) pool. Haven't come up with a name for this one yet but it is on the map. Unsure if it will dry up completely during summer or not yet.

Lone Duck Falls. Glacial till, doesn't appear to be seasonal and all together it meets the 10' height requirement.

Some of you may have noticed the new(ish) signs on Pope/Rayonier land stating you must have an access pass for entry. Well I have good news, unless you're hunting the pass is free! There are several waterfalls on Pope land so make sure you grab a pass before heading out.
