The hood rats have arrived

FOUR ARRESTED FOLLOWING FIGHT ON BEACH BIKE WAY: Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Beach Bike Way in the south end of the county to a large number of people fighting outside of a home.

When deputies arrived, several foot chases ensued. Four subjects, three juveniles, and an 18-year-old were quickly detained.

Contact was made at the residence, and it was determined the fight was started by two intoxicated juveniles who walked up on the porch of the victims offering to sell them alcohol.

When the victims refused and tried to es**rt the juveniles off of the property one of the juveniles began punching one of the victims in the face. Adults inside the home, who were family to the victim, tried to defuse the fight while two more subjects who were friends of the juveniles came up to the porch and began hitting the victim.

A large fight took place where multiple victims in their 60's were injured including bruising and a chipped tooth. One of the adults in the residence who did not want to press charges had a broken arm.

Arrests were made on all four subjects, three juveniles and one adult, who had just turned 18, for battery. All were from Atlanta, Georgia.

WCSO TO SUSPEND BEACH ACCESS FROM CR 283 EAST BEGINNING AT 7 PM; SAND CLOSED TO LARGE CROWDS, UNACCOMPANIED TEENS

April Fools is canceled today. Keep your jokes to yourself because this whole Spring Break has been one already and we tired.

While today feels like March 32nd, we're in the home stretch.

However, until further notice, Walton County Sheriff’s Office plans to suspend beach access from County Road 283 S east to the Bay County line beginning at 7 pm.

In anticipation of the large influx of crowds of teenagers from April 1st through April 5th, Walton County Sheriff’s Office plans to aggressively target large crowds of unaccompanied minors and prevent them from gathering in large groups on the sand in Santa Rosa Beach.

Anyone caught trespassing on private property to gain access to the beach will be charged accordingly. Large congregations WILL NOT be allowed on the sand.

This release serves as a warning to those teens who plan to come to the beach in groups and to encourage parents visiting with their kids to NOT allow them to come to the beach alone.

“Our team is in the final stretch of Spring Break,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “It is imperative that during our busiest week – Atlanta – we prevent a situation from getting out of control. We are trying to get ahead of this now.”

This effort will not prevent families from visiting the beach but is specifically for minors without adult supervision. We appreciate the patience of our residents during this time.

No, this is NOT an April Fool's joke. As far as we are concerned, the real joke is that the start of Atlanta week is April Fools Day.

15-YEAR-OLD FROM ALABAMA ARRESTED FOR HITTING DEPUTIES IN THE FACE DURING ARREST FOR MINOR IN POSSESSION

WALTON COUNTY, FLA—A 15-year-old from Huntsville, Alabama is charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer after hitting two deputies in the face during an arrest for underage drinking.

Sunday night, Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies were conducting crowd control for a large group of juveniles between Nightcap Street and the beach access near S County Highway 395.

Deputies were placing the 15-year-old into custody after he was found drinking a Michelob Ultra when the teen began to resist, punching one of the deputies in the side of the head.

While deputies es**rted the teen to a patrol car, he slipped out of his cuffs and swung his right arm across a deputy’s face, hitting them in the nose with the handcuffs.

The minor was charged with two counts of battery on a LEO, resisting arrest with violence, obstruction with violence, and possession of alcohol by a minor.

He was transported and booked into the Walton County Jail and then transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Crestview.

Our agency is not publishing the name or mug shot of the juvenile based on multiple considerations including criminal history, out-of-state residency, etc.
