The Earth isn’t flying around the Sun…

It’s falling.

Imagine throwing a baseball. The harder you throw it, the farther it travels before gravity pulls it back down.

Now imagine throwing it so fast that the ground curves away beneath it just as quickly as it falls.

It never lands.

That’s an orbit.

Earth is doing the exact same thing around the Sun—falling continuously while moving sideways at about 67,000 mph.

Sometimes the strangest facts become the simplest once you see them.

Most people think black holes suck everything in.

We’d keep orbiting almost exactly the same way.

The only thing we’d lose is sunlight… because light can’t escape.

Time slowing down sounds impossible.

But Einstein realized something strange:

If light always travels at the same speed, then something else has to give.

Imagine a clock made of light.

When the clock starts moving, the light has to travel a longer path. Since light can’t slow down, time does.

That’s why astronauts age slightly less than people on Earth.

The faster you move through space, the slower you move through time.

Not science fiction.

Physics.

One stays on Earth.

The other travels near the speed of light.

When he returns, he’s younger than his brother.

It sounds impossible, but according to Einstein, time doesn’t pass at the same rate for everyone. The faster you move, the slower time passes for you.

Nothing can move faster than light.

Not rockets.
Not information.
Not even gravity.

According to Einstein, the faster you move through space, the slower you move through time. As you approach the speed of light, time itself begins to freeze, and reaching light speed would require infinite energy.

The universe has a speed limit.

And reality may be built around it.
