The Creative Arts Studio is a community-based art studio, performance space and gallery.

The Creative Arts Studio is an art studio, performance space and gallery. Home to a black-box theater for plays, concerts, open mic nights, and art, music and drama classes. The mission of the CAS is to provide a space for community members of all ages to participate, perform or experience the arts as a means toward self-expression, personal growth, positive collaboration and community-building.

This is an expression of gratitude and celebration for 16 years of meaningful and memorable moments, that each inspired the next class, performance or event. I’m deeply grateful to all who shared, participated and created in community together at The Creative Arts Studio. We will be closing at the end of August, yet I remain deeply committed to the powerful role that the Arts play in building community, and fostering personal growth and wellness.

Opportunities to enjoy the arts under the turquoise awning at 256 Sea Cliff Avenue will continue on after The Creative Arts Studio closes. I’m thrilled to share that in mid Fall, local artists Kimberle and Chris Frost will open Frost Ceramics and Mercantile; a working ceramics studio, unique shop and gallery. The Frost family will contribute to the warm, artistic vibrance of the Sea Cliff community for many years to come!

We will be posting reflections and updates here on The Creative Arts Studio page. Please also check FB for Phyllis Sorella Brandes, for continued opportunities to make purchases, buy gifts, and enjoy sales through the end of August in the shop, then online thereafter. Thank you, Phyllis, for bringing your jewel box shop of beautiful treasures, warmth and great conversation to The Creative Arts Studio. With so much gratitude for 16 years of “being creative in community” at The Creative Arts Studio. I will be continuing my work as a Licensed Art Therapist, Artist, and Director of Community Programs at The Amsterdam at Harborside, and look forward to future community-based, creative collaborations. Posting again to remind folks that as a precaution, The Creative Arts Studio large community events are canceled for the remainder of the month, including the Storytelling Open Mic tonight, 3/14, the Benefit Concert on 3/21, and Sea Cliff Farmer's Market. We will look forward to resuming our community events soon and we wish you vibrant, good health.❤🎶🎨✌

As a precaution, The Creative Arts Studio will be canceling all large community events for the remainder of the month, including the Storytelling Open Mic on 3/14, the Benefit Concert on 3/21, and Sea Cliff Farmer's Market shares the same priority to take preventative measures by canceling the Market for the next few weeks. We will look forward to resuming our community events soon and we wish you vibrant, good health.❤🎶🎨✌

At The Creative Arts Studio of Sea Cliff on Thursday, February 13th from 5pm-7pm join us for an artist reception and vendors market of La Vie En Rose!

Featuring: artwork, ceramics, handmade wearables, soaps, and artist edition clothing in the spirit of Galentine's day and Valentine's Day!

Sorella Design will also be open late, and there are shopping events all along Sea Cliff Ave!
