NEIU Marywood Soar and Strive Programs

SOAR & STRIVE are unique programs hosted at Marywood University run by NEIU 19 that encourages independence! We are a public school program for student 18-21!

The first program of its kind, SOAR provides an age-appropriate environment in which high-school age students with Autism Spectrum Disorder can prepare for competitive employment and learn to live independently. STRIVE ahs joined our team in 2023 providing a Life Skills class which teaching Life Skills and Job Skills on Marywood's campus as well! SOAR & STRIVE are NEIU 19 Vocational Transition Pro

SOAR & STRIVE had the AMAZING opportunity to tour Cooper's Seafood House with Mr. Paul Cooper, who shared valuable insight into the wide range of career opportunities the restaurant industry has to offer. Students enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at their incredible, fun, and welcoming restaurant and kitchen—and to top it all off, they were treated to a five-star lunch!

We cannot say thank you enough to the Cooper family for hosting such a meaningful and memorable field trip for our students.

Today SOAR & STRIVE students had the pleasure of touring P & R Discount store and learned about jobs in a store. They hooked the kids up with so many fun treats and students got to shop around and learn at the same time! A special guest (Former SOAR and STRIVE grad Vito) joined us on the tour and showed us around! This store also employs a SOAR graduate! We had a great time thank you for the grand welcome P & R!!!

Even though the morning was chilly at the Sports Challenge, SOAR & STRIVE stayed busy helping run field events and working hard in the concession stand! 🩵💙
