Family Braces for Philosophy Major’s Return Home Greg and Marjorie Lamothe have begun the painstaking preparations for their son Jake, a philosophy major, to return home for the holidays.
How Philosophy can help help us think through the problems posed by the pandemic: "Decisions involve values....There may be an obvious ethical answer to a straightforward question. But when you’re making an ethical and political decision, all sorts of different values are at stake – how to protect the well-being of people with COVID or of the unemployed or someone with cancer.

"Profiling" in vitro embryos for their IQ is on the horizon. Would it be wrong to allow prospective parents the option of choosing and implanting only the smartest embryos? Is this a technology we should be pursuing?
Profiling embryos to choose those with higher IQs is almost a reality - STAT Embryo profiling aims to evaluate the minuscule effects associated with thousands of genetic variants. Some are thinking to use it to improve kids' IQ.
