Saint Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish Conventual Franciscan Friar. In 1941, Maximilian Kolbe was arrested by the N***s and taken to Auschwitz. While at Auschwitz, he volunteered to die in place of a stranger. Maximilian Kolbe is most remembered for his devotion to Mary and this humble act of giving his life so another may live.
