What is a Windhover? A Windhover is a bird, synomymous to the common Kestrel.

It is characterized by its hunting behavior and tendency to require a slight headwind to hover (hence the name Windhover). "The Windhover" is a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins, which he dedicated to Christ our Lord. This poem is featured on the first page of every volume of the Windhover here at the University of Scranton.
