This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 20 from 2-5pm at the Diocesan Pastoral Center (330 Wyoming Ave).
Free Parking Options:
-Guests in attendance can park in the parking lot on the corner of Linden Ave and Wyoming Ave (by the Jazz mural)
-Street parking is also available near the Diocesan Pastoral Center (on Linden Ave and Wyoming Ave)

The community is invited to participate Saturday June 20 in the 2026 World Refugee Day Celebration from 2-5 p.m. The new location for this year’s event will be the Diocese of Scranton Pastoral Center, 330 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. The celebration will include cultural music and dance performances, refreshments, giveaways, games and activities for kids. More than 25 community agencies are working together to plan the celebration.

Join us next Saturday, June 20 from 2-5pm at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in downtown Scranton at 330 Wyoming Avenue for an afternoon of solidarity, friendship, culture and celebration of our refugee neighbors in collaboration with Catholic Social Services of The Diocese of Scranton and more than 25 partners!

Sharing some highlights of our annual Community-Based Learning (CBL) Faculty Workshop! This year’s workshop focused on developing CBL faculty mentoring partnerships.
Topics highlighted throughout the one-day workshop included: best practices for CBL partnerships, assessment and reflection, overview of the Scranton Community, cultural humility and positionality, and overall goals of the CBL Mentoring partnership for experienced CBL Faculty and faculty new to CBL.
We had a great time touring and learning more about the great work of our community partners in South Side, including Friends of the Poor and Catherine McAuley Center, Bhutanese Cultural Foundation Scranton Association, Maternal and Family Health Services, and United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA.

Parking will be limited for this event at the Steamtown Historic Site, but never fear! Scranton is providing free shuttle service from Scranton High School, West Scranton High, and PNC Field at Montage Mountain from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 15 & 16. As well, paid parking will be available through downtown Scranton via parking garages ($1.25 per hour, $15 daily maximum) and limited metered street parking ($2.25 per hour).

Join us from 5-9 p.m. Friday Jun 5 at Scranton Artworks for a re-exhibition of different selections of our Scranton Stories portraits during the summer First Fridays. The photographs and oral histories feature themes of community, identity, faith, culture and civic engagement and include each interviewee being asked about their hopes for the nation ahead of the 250th anniversary!
