What a great way to usher in the new school year!
Today, we had a wonderful meeting with our Catholic school principals and Catholic Schools Office staff, who came together at the Diocesan Pastoral Center to learn, pray, share ideas, look ahead, and prepare for another fulfilling year of serving our students and families.
We are grateful for the leadership, dedication, and faith each of our principals brings to their school communities. And we thank Fr. Seth Wasnock, diocesan vicar for clergy and true friend of our schools, for celebrating Mass with us to start the day.

Wyoming Area Catholic School had the honor of welcoming Joe Snedeker this afternoon during his incredible Go Joe bike ride to benefit St. Joseph’s Center! 🚴

Students, families, faculty, and staff were so excited to cheer Joe on and support this beloved annual tradition that brings our community together for such a meaningful cause.

Thanks to the generosity of the school community, WAC proudly presented Joe with a $1,200 donation, along with a jar filled with additional cash contributions collected during his visit. Every dollar helps support the life-changing programs and services provided at the center.

Thank you, Joe, for inspiring us with your energy, kindness, and commitment to making a difference, and safe travels! We were thrilled you made us a stop on this year’s journey.

The Diocesan Catholic Schools Office joyfully congratulates Father Jan Carlo Perez, a Class of 2016 graduate of Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsburg on his Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood this morning.

Father Perez has publicly said it was his time at Notre Dame that helped him understand the faith more deeply, helping him to realize he was being called to a vocation to the priesthood.

Father Perez will celebrate his first liturgy at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at St. Matthew Church in East Stroudsburg.

May God bless Father Perez with many fruitful years in the service of the Catholic Church.

Your help is needed to prevent legislation from advancing that could have a devastating effect on Catholic education across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please ask your PA State Representative and Senator to oppose House Bill 2632, a measure put forth in the State House, which would have drastic consequences for our 19 Catholic schools. In addition to your grit, talent and work ethic, you take with you the love of your school community, your families, your coaches, and all who have supported you along the way. Your season is a testament to discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and faith, and you are already champions beyond the scoreboard.

Lord Jesus, You offer us Your Body and Blood so that we may have life in You. As summer begins, help us to seek You in the Eucharist. Deepen our love for Your presence in the Blessed Sacrament and nourish us with the grace to follow You more faithfully each day. Amen.
