PN graduates do great things Rooted In Nurture Postpartum Doula

The best support comes from people who are supported, too.

Two weeks ago, I packed my bags, supported a new mom, and then headed to Lancaster, PA for what we now lovingly call Doula Summer Camp 2026.

Four incredible women traveled from Alaska, Rhode Island, Michigan, and Georgia, while I made the drive from Northeast Pennsylvania. We first met at a doula retreat in Maine back in 2024, and what started as a shared passion for owning small businesses supporting families quickly became what I know will be a lifelong friendship.

Our time was filled with laughter, tears, business breakthroughs, long conversations, fresh farm food, horse-and-buggies, and loads of moments that filled our cups.

As birth workers, we spend so much of our time pouring into others. Having a community that pours back into us matters just as much.

These times remind me that I don't have all the answers, and that's okay. I have a circle of experienced doulas (and a soon to be midwife!) I can learn from, brainstorm with, celebrate alongside, and continue growing with.

When I return home, I don't just come back inspired. I come back with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and an even stronger commitment to the families I serve through postpartum support and sleep coaching the most precious little babes and their parents.

When the doula continues learning, connecting, and growing...your family benefits too.

Here's to lifelong friendships, endless learning, and a sisterhood I'm so grateful to be part of. Until next year, Doula Summer Camp "27!

Ready for a new kind of nursing challenge? The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County is looking for a caring, dedicated School Nurse to join our CTCLC family for the 2026–2027 school year, supporting students in grades 10–12.

Good news: you don't need to already hold PA School Nurse certification to apply! If you have a current PA RN license, you may be eligible to be hired now and earn your certification through PDE's emergency permit process while you work — so don't count yourself out if this is new territory for you.
