It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Matthew J. Stefanelli. Matt was a double alumni of our CHS department, with a CHS degree in 2003 and a Master’s in RC in 2005. Matt was fiercely devoted to the counseling profession and helping others as a psychotherapist and mentor. He also was an admired adjunct professor with us for more than 18 years! Matt met his wife Marlee at the University of Scranton and they have 2 beautiful children, Isabella (16) and Matthew (14). Matt and Marlee built a thriving private practice and together have helped so many in our community. Matt’s kindness, humor, knowlege and insight are well known and will continue to impact so many as his connections in NEPA and beyond are vast. Our thoughts and love go out to all feeling this huge loss.

Also, a fundraiser and support link for the family has been set up. Any help (from meals to helping with chores around the house) would be appreciated. The link for signing up for things is below.

This summer I was so fortunate and blessed to join 14 colleagues and Father Jeremy on The Footsteps of St. Ignatius Pilgrimage! It was incredible and truly life changing to be in such sacred places. I look forward to sharing more with all of you about all I learned and experienced in the coming year.
