Today was the first week of our fall session of Cafe Connections! It is a program where care partners and their loved ones living with cognitive change and/or other forms of dementias meet with peers for support, companionship, and shared experiences.

This 8-week FREE program, supported by the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging provides structured activities to promote support, connection, and engagement! Today rock painting was part of the program along with engagement with students from Beth Shalom Academy!

Cafe Connections is open to the entire community.

Sukkot is almost here! That means lots of festive fun is coming to the JCC!

Today, our Early Learning Center classes learned all about Sukkot and got creative making decorations for our JCC sukkah. Their colorful creations will help make the sukkah extra special as we get ready for next week’s Cader Family Sukkot Program & Celebration!

We can’t wait to celebrate together!

Who says you can’t teach sharks to swim? 🦈😂

Our JCC Aquatics Director, Zoey Kermidas, who is scuba certified, recently had the incredible opportunity to swim with a whale shark! 🌊

Naturally, she took the opportunity to tell her new friend all about the JCC, our aquatics programs, and everything happening at the center. We’re pretty sure the whale shark is now considering a JCC membership! 😂

🏀🏐🏓 Our gym floor just got a fresh new look!

We’re excited to show off our newly refinished and painted gymnasium floor! Along with a fresh finish, we’ve repainted the basketball and volleyball lines and added new pickleball court lines, giving our members even more ways to enjoy the space.

It’s a great refresh for a space that gets a lot of use throughout the year

Come check it out and get in the game! 💪
