We had our third annual dePaul School Fall Fest today 🍁🍂🎃👻 students chose a pumpkin to paint from the dePaul pumpkin patch, and then got creative with their awesome designs 🎨🖌️ Mrs. Nelson also provided some spook-tacular face-painting! We then had games such as the Jack-O-Lantern relay, and Monster Musical Chairs. Lunchtime included donuts and apple c***r 🍎, followed by some spooky movies. It’s always a great time at dePaul!

October is Fire Prevention Month, and Fireman Dan of the Scranton Fire Department dropped by dePaul School for his annual fire safety presentation. The students learned what causes fires, how to prevent fires, and what to do if a fire should occur. We hope everyone learned a little something new!

Students learned how to cross-stitch on a plastic canvas this trimester in Home-Ec class! They turned out fabulous!

dePaul School Field Day was another great success yesterday! 🏀🏅🍔🌭 Great weather plus games, food and amazing company made for the best day! A huge thank you to our dePaul families who joined us for the day’s festivities, and donated tons of delicious food, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and helped us set up for the day. We truly could not have done it without you! 🥰☀️😎🍉⛱️

dePaul School had another successful Community Service/Spirit Week! Monday we had a visit from Friends with Paws Pet Rescue, who brought us three adorable dogs to meet who are currently up for adoption at the shelter, and we showed our spirit with Mix/Match Day; Wednesday Griffin Pond Animal Shelter stopped by with gorgeous Nebula who is up for adoption at the shelter, and we had Favorite Color Day; Thursday St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen talked to staff and students about their wonderful program, and we had Career Day; Friday volunteers from the Ronald McDonald House visited and we had 80’s Throwback Day!!! Overall, it was a very fun and charitable week! ♥️☺️☀️

Yesterday was dePaul School’s annual Class Trip! 🚌 We stayed close to home again this year, and visited the Everhart Museum in Scranton. There are sometimes great finds right in our hometown that we didn’t really know existed, and that was our experience yesterday. The museum was so much fun, with so many different exhibits; we didn’t even make it through the whole museum during our tour! We saw local art in so many different forms, prehistoric fossils, birds and animals of Northeast PA, and explored the Hubble Telescope exhibit that is currently on display, which was fascinating. After our tour of the museum, we walked across Nay Aug Park to the Greenhouse Project 🌱🪴🌷. Students and staff planted flowers to take home, along with a seed snail of either watermelon 🍉 or pumpkin 🎃 seeds! We were truly all very impressed, and all had a wonderful day! ☀️🕶️ ☺️

dePaul School’s 2026 Recognition Night is in the books 📚 and was as successful and wonderful as always! ♥️ All students receive a Certificate of Recognition for their outstanding achievements throughout the year, plus students who earned Perfect Attendance and Zero Slips were recognized. The biggest part of the evening is the 8th grade graduation 👩‍🎓and our four graduates were amazing! We wish them all the success in the world next year in high school, although they will be greatly missed next year at dePaul!! 💕💕

Happy Easter and happy Spring from the dePaul School!! 🐣🌹🌼🌿 Yesterday, we had our annual Easter egg hunt led by 8th graders Sierra and Malaina, along with some Easter themed games and sweet treats. This morning was our delicious Easter breakfast, which was catered by Pandarella’s Restaurant in Dunmore 🍳🥞🧇. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday, and spring break! We will be back in session on Tuesday, 4/7🌷🍃🌺.
