We are having our all sports physical night on Thursday May 30th from 3-5 pm at the High School.

A few key items to note:
- MCC students only
- $10 per physical
- 2024/2025 6th -12th graders and pop warner football.

Attention Mason County Central students and parents!!!

Students from all districts welcome!
Our first class session will be held at our Hart location, April 22nd thru May 9th from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm for Segment 1. Segment 2 classes will be held from April 29th thru May 1st at the same location from 5:45pm to 7:45pm We will host classes at the PLC "Pirate Learning Center" located in Diman-Wolf Early Childhood Center.

Things to know before signing up:
-The student must be 14 years and 8 months before the first day of class, if signing up for segment one.
-If signing up for Segment 2, it needs to be 3 months since the student's Level 1 license was issued.
-The class fee for Segment 1 will be $375
-The class fee for Segment 2 will be $75
-Students need to attend ALL classes. There is only one make-up day, May 10th.
-If signing up for Segment 1, be prepared to drive after class and on the weekends to meet the Behind-the-Wheel requirements.

To sign up for either class please email Mrs. Hintze at [email protected] with the student’s first/middle/last name, birthdate, and address, and she will confirm if spots are left. Don’t forget to add which segment you wish to enroll your student in. Call Mrs. Hintze at 815-735-2785 with any questions. Classes start in a couple of weeks, and we anticipate spots will go fast. We look forward to serving you.

Dear MCC School Family, Due to the impending Winter Storm forecast that has been upgraded to a Warning for tomorrow, the Mason County Central School District including Victory Early Childhood Center will be closed Friday, January 12th. Stay Safe, Warm, and Strong Spartans!

We believe making higher education more accessible is an investment in the future of our youth and community!

Community Foundation for Mason County Executive Director Andrea Large has been making scholarship presentations to the class of 2024 at each of the school districts in Mason County. Students need to complete only one application on the Foundation website to be in the running for numerous scholarships.

If you know a senior looking to further their education in any capacity next year, please share our application in the link below. Applications are open until February 1, 2024.

Dear Mason County Central Students,

Just some thoughts from me, saying "I am so sorry that the Bond Proposal 1 & Proposal 2 were not passed by our community." We had some support, just not enough that made it to the voting booths. Yes, it is very disappointing and disheartening. Remember this time in our lives, when you are old enough to make your voice heard through a vote. Each vote counts!

I hope you all know that you are worth the investment these proposals were all about.

People have lots of different reasons for voting "NO". Do not take that "NO VOTE" personally. Prop 1 - the proposal for maintenance, repairs, and our safety - that no vote hits hard, and it hurts. Some day, YOUR vote will count, and someday, you will have the opportunity to register to vote - or not.

I also understand how important Prop 2 is to some of our students, and to our community as a whole. As an artist, I get it. As a staff member, I get it. As someone who sees the value of a well-rounded education, I get it. As a person that knows SO MANY CREATIVE PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY, I get it. That new auditorium is just as important as our core classes, to so many of us. There is much more to life than the basics. Hopefully, sometime in the not too distant future, that enhanced educational pathway will become a reality here at MCC.

Remember, your voice is just as important as any and all others. If you want your voice to be heard in such matters, listen! Be aware of what is happening in our community! Speak up and act up - accordingly - peacefully - appropriately. Work for the things that are important to you. And, know that if something is important to you, it is probably important to others, as well. And remember, you have a say, and you speak clearly when you show up to vote.

I hope we try again, and again, and again.... to improve and elevate our educational opportunities for our students.... until we have the places & the tools & the wisdom, to provide our young people with the many areas of education we need. Next time, maybe we'll pass those proposals!
