Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Upper Elmentary October 19 thru 23! Mr. Gordon will be staying after school until 4:30pm on Oct 19, 20, 21, and 23; and he will be staying until 6:30 on the 22nd which is the first day of conferences. You can set up a virtual wallet for your student and you can also contribute to Share the Fair, the giving program that benefits students at our school who need help buying new books; at this link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/masoncocentralupperes

Per our 26/27 handbook, we will be cleaning out our Lost and Found at the end of every trimester. We are about half way through the first trimester and we have A LOT of sweatshirts here at the Upper Elementary. If your student is missing something, please ask them to check the lost and found or contact the office or their teacher and we can check. Lost and found items not claimed will be donated at the end of each trimester (November 29th) to local shelters, coat drives, or other locations looking for clothing items.

At MCC Upper Elementary, we love starting many of our mornings together with Morning Circles. It’s a special time for our students to connect, build friendships, and grow as a classroom community. We talk about topics that matter to our kids, share things we may be struggling with, practice what it means to work together as a team, celebrate one another, and explore our Character Trait of the Month.

These moments help our students feel seen, heard, supported, and connected, and remind us that we’re all part of something bigger. Together, we’re building a caring school community and growing stronger every day as Spartans! 💙💛👍🏽

Mason County Central Schools would like to remind families that there will be no school for students on Friday October 2nd as our staff will be participating in a Professional Development day. We hope you have a wonderful long weekend and we will see you back at school on Monday October 5th. A reminder to parents who have students who participated in cheer camp, they will be cheering to the crowd at Friday nights football game on October 2nd. Please have your students to Spartan Community field no later than 6:15.

We are excited to share that our Color Fun Run last Friday was a great success! A huge thank you to our many business sponsors, community volunteers, staff volunteers, and the wonderful families of our elementary Spartans who all came together to make this event possible.
💙 Just over $17,000 was raised on Friday through students' earnings, the bake sale, and t-shirt sale. This is so impressive for our small community.

💛 We had 569 people participate in the run/walk this year, which is over 200 more than participated last year. The Color Fun Run truly is a community event as people of all ages enjoy their colorful evening.

💙 We had 67 volunteers help with the event including MCC staff members, community members, and 18 volunteer firefighters from four different local departments. Thank you! We couldn't host this event without the shared time and energy of these terrific volunteers.

💛 Local businesses donated over $9,500 via both cash donations ($4,950) and by donating goods or services. Please see the list of sponsors below and be sure to thank them for supporting our Spartans.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped to promote the event, cheered students on as they raised money, and congratulated them on a job well done. The monies raised will allow the PTC to fund K-5 field trips, new books for each student in March is Reading month, positive behavior supports, and more throughout the school year.
