🏀 Random Draw Night is set for Thursday, October 22!

We mixed up the league and created eight brand-new teams for a special three-game night. Games will be 20 minutes long and played 4-on-4.

After each round, teams will be matched against another team with the same record:

➡️ Win your first game? You’ll play another 1–0 team.
➡️ Lose your first game? You’ll play another 0–1 team.
➡️ Split your first two games? You’ll play another 1–1 team.
➡️ Start 2–0? You’ll face the other undefeated team for the championship!

Every team is guaranteed three games, regardless of record. The team that finishes 3–0 will win free West Shore Community College Recreation Center memberships!

Please check the team list carefully. If you don’t see your name or already know you won’t be there, let us know ASAP so we can make any necessary roster adjustments.

🏀 Midseason Tournament Announcement 🏀

Get ready for a fun shake-up! Our midseason tournament is coming up this Thursday, October 1, and all eight teams will compete in a single elimination two game guarentee bracket.

How it works:

🏀 Teams will be seeded 1–8 based on the standings.
🏀 If you lose your first game, you will move to a consolation bracket to play your second game.
🏀 Only the lower-seeded team gets a point advantage.
🏀 That team starts with 2 points for each of its regular-season losses. The other team starts at 0.

For example, if a team with 4 losses plays a higher-seeded team with 3 losses, the game starts 8–0. The handicap stays the same for that team in every matchup where it is the lower seed.

🏀 The Elam ending:

We’ll play for 25 minutes. When time expires, we’ll add 5 points to the leading team’s score to set the target. The first team to reach that number wins!

For example, if at the end of 25 minutes the score is 25-30, the game will be played to 35.

This is meant to be a fun midseason challenge that gives every team a shot. The end-of-season tournament will not be affected. If you have any questions, reach out! 🏆

Just one more week of regular-season play before our midseason tournament tips off!

This tournament is all about shaking things up and adding a fun new challenge. Teams will begin each game with bonus points based on their regular-season record—the top team will start at zero, while lower-ranked teams will receive a larger head start.

Anything can happen, so come ready to compete!

Week two is in the books, and the season is off to a great start! 🏀

Mark your calendars for our Midseason Tournament on October 1 and make sure your full team can be there. Similar to last year, the tournament will be double-elimination, with teams receiving a point advantage based on season performance to help create competitive matchups and an even playing field.

More details to come!

Week one is officially in the books, and we’re off and running! 🏀

With eight teams this year, we want to keep things interesting by mixing things up throughout the season. We’re planning a midseason Tournament (where the worse the team, the more points they start with, and we’re also considering a Random Draw Night!

Everyone would show up and be randomly assigned to a team for the night. The games wouldn’t affect league records; it would simply be a fun way to switch things up and play with some different people.

What does everyone think? Would you be up for a Random Draw Night?
