Allen County-Scottsville’s 2026 golf season is underway. Back-to-back tournament action Monday and Tuesday at the Willow Oaks Country Club launched Patriot golfers into the heat of the first week of high school golf---pun intended.
Despite high temperatures and humidity, Monday’s Champion Cup Barren County-Glasgow Series resulted in a solid day for rising Patriot star Simon Stamper. The incoming AC-S freshman shot an 81 (+10) to tie for 22nd in the 100-player event. Stamper’s round included 10 pars, six bogeys and two double bogeys.
AC-S sophomore Lane Temple posted an 86, 15 strokes over par. Senior Kaden Stinson carded an 88 (+17), Eighth-grader Eli Cope----playing his first varsity round---finished with an 89 (+18) while Roman Tabor--also in his first varsity action--closed with a 91 (+20).
Stinson paced the Patriots on their return to Willow Oaks Tuesday for a second 18-hole event. The senior finished his day with a five-over par round of 76. Stinson recorded three birdies, 11 pars, and seven bogeys during his round.
Stamper was 24th in the field following an 80 (+9) on the day. Cope carded an 82 (+11). Varsity newcomer Baylor Constant and Temple had scores of 93 (+22) for their rounds.
AC-S’s golfers are slated to return to action on Saturday at the Taylor County Invitational in Campbellsville.
