The question no one asks out loud: what if the school folds?

Unfortunately Orthodox schools have a track record of opening and closing after a few years. But that’s why we’re starting small with K through 5th only. 15 students max. Experienced educators. A permanent campus at Assumption in North Scottsdale. With staff who have run organizations at scale before this one.

Most teachers are told to “teach to the middle” or average of the classroom. Because of that, the kids ahead get bored. The kids behind get lost. And the ones in the middle get a curriculum that wasn’t designed for them.

We teach and cater to every kids individual needs. Some days that means encouraging them to push ahead of the lesson plan. Some days it means slowing down and rebuilding the foundation until it’s actually solid.

This is the beauty of having small class sizes in combination with the classical education model. Critical thinkers don’t come from rigid classrooms. They come from skilled teachers who know how to meet every child where they’re at.

Reading programs are swinging back to phonics for one reason: it works! We’re not inventing a better way to teach a child to read. We’re returning to the one that always did.
