I just watched this film on the plane home from the Middle East (released 2018). I knew little about Lee Israel's story, but as a non-fiction history/biography book author, there were many aspects of her character and situation to which I strongly related. It's a compelling story for anyone in our business, and I'd highly recommend it to authors, publishers and other industry folk. But it's also just a great movie. Melissa McCarthy absolutely nails this complex character. It isn't often that a real-world literary intrigue arises and is made into such a beautiful, heartbreaking film. I'd love your thoughts on it if you have seen it, or see it now. I'm also interested now in reading Lee Israel's own account of the same title.
