How long can you hang?
It seems like a pretty simple test until you're about 30 seconds in and your hands start negotiating with you.
A good general goal is around **60 seconds for men and 45 seconds for women**. Obviously age, bodyweight and training experience make a difference, but if you can comfortably hang for that long, you've built yourself a pretty solid combination of grip strength and upper-body endurance.
Grip strength is also one of those things that becomes increasingly important as we get older. Research has consistently found associations between stronger grip and better health and longevity outcomes.
We use hangs for more than grip, too. Depending on the person, they're a great way to work on overhead position, shoulder mobility and control of the shoulder blades.
Nothing fancy. Just another one of those basic abilities that's worth keeping.
Get strong. Stay strong.

You don't have to love working out.
You just have to love what it allows you to keep doing.
For many of our clients, strength training isn't about setting records or looking a certain way.
It's about staying independent.
It's about having the energy to travel, play with grandkids, carry groceries, get up off the floor with confidence, and continue living life on your own terms.
That's why we focus on progressive strength training that's personalized to each person, not one-size-fits-all workouts.
No matter your age or experience, it's never too late to get stronger.
If you're looking for private personal training or small group strength training in Scottsdale, we'd love to help you get started.

Most people think working out has to be something you suffer through.
We don't.
Yes, we want you to work hard. We want you to get stronger. But we also want you to actually enjoy coming in.
When you have a coach who knows your goals, keeps you accountable, celebrates your progress, and makes the workouts challenging without making them miserable, exercise becomes something you look forward to instead of something you keep putting off.
That's the environment we've worked hard to build at Everybitfit.
A place where people feel comfortable, supported, and excited to get stronger, no matter where they're starting.
Fitness isn't just about getting results. It's about finding a routine you can enjoy and stick with for years.
If you've never experienced that kind of coaching, come see the difference for yourself.

Mobility isn't just about touching your toes. It's about keeping your body moving the way it's supposed to.
One of the biggest reasons adults begin feeling "old" isn't because of age... It's because they gradually lose mobility.
Without regular movement and strength training, joints become stiffer, muscles tighten, and everyday activities become more difficult.
Improving mobility can help:
β
Reduce aches and stiffness
β
Improve posture
β
Increase range of motion
β
Make strength training safer
β
Improve balance and stability
β
Make everyday activities easier
The goal isn't to become a gymnast.
The goal is to keep doing the things you love for decades to come.
At Everybitfit, mobility isn't an afterthought, it's built into our coaching because moving well helps you stay strong for life.

How much exercise does it actually take to build muscle?
One of the biggest surprises for new clients is learning they don't have to spend hours in the gym.
If you're new to strength training, your body responds incredibly well to relatively small amounts of work.
Research suggests that beginners can make excellent progress with just 6β10 challenging sets per muscle group each week, especially when those sets are performed with good technique and are taken close to muscular fatigue.
The key isn't doing more...
It's doing the right amount consistently.
At Everybitfit, we focus on quality over quantity. Every exercise has a purpose, every workout builds on the last, and progressive overload helps clients continue getting stronger safely.
Remember:
β Train consistently.
β Focus on good technique.
β Gradually increase the challenge.
β Recover well.
Building strength is a marathon not a sprint.

Can strength training actually improve bone health?
Absolutely.
Beginning around age 30, adults gradually start losing bone mineral density. For women, bone loss accelerates after menopause because estrogen levels decline, increasing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
The good news?
Bones respond to stress.
Resistance training sends a signal to your body to maintain, and in many people improve bone strength over time.
Exercises like trap bar deadlifts, squats, carries, presses, and rows don't just build muscle. They help strengthen the entire system that keeps you active and independent.
At Everybitfit, we specialize in helping adults safely build strength, improve balance, and support long-term bone health through personalized coaching.
