Dirty hands, happy hearts. 🥕 Carrots have become a whole thing at Umbrella Academy lately 😁🥹the kids love going out to the garden to pull the tiniest, cutest little carrots straight from the earth. Our spring harvest is here and it is the sweetest thing to watch. 🌿

Big things are happening this week and we could not be more grateful for every single one of you who has shown up for this dream. 🌿

Our Glow Run is this Saturday, April 18th from 7–9 PM and we would love to see you there! Registration is just $10 per runner — and here’s the really special part: each runner also gets to collect sponsors who can donate a flat amount or pledge per lap. The kids will be out there running their hearts out to help build their own school, and they already have big dreams for what’s coming — think amazing outdoor play structures and so much more.

There is something so magical about children getting to say I helped build this. 🥹

Another little peek into our grounds 🌿✨
Every corner is coming alive…and honestly, we can already FEEL what this space is becoming. We close our eyes and can already picture it: kids running through the yard, collecting fresh fruit straight from the trees, Fleetwood lounging in the sunshine, the chickens settled in their coop, and our sweet bunny exploring the garden. 🥹
All of it growing, thriving, and coming to life together.

A peaceful desert oasis where children can learn, explore, slow down, and just be. With citrus trees growing, edible gardens in the plans, and all of our animals settling in; we are creating something truly beautiful here. A place for our kids to grow, wonder, and make the most magical memories.

The energy of this space already feels so special, and we are so deeply grateful. We cannot wait to bring it all to life and share it with you.

One of our absolute favorite things about Umbrella Academy? Our mixed-age pods. 🌟

There is something truly special that happens when an older student pulls a younger one close and reads to them; a quiet kind of magic where leadership is born and confidence grows on both sides. Our older students rise to the occasion every single time. They become role models, problem-solvers, and mentors. And our younger students? They light up. They listen harder, try harder, and dream bigger…because someone they look up to believes in them.

Research actually backs what we see every day: mixed-age learning develops stronger social skills, deeper empathy, and greater academic confidence in both the younger AND older students involved. It mirrors the real world — where we rarely work alongside only people our exact age — and gives our kids a head start on navigating that beautifully.

Does it test their patience sometimes? Absolutely. But there is no growth without those moments, and we celebrate those too. 💛Empathy, patience, leadership, conflict resolution — learned not from a textbook, but from each other.

This is what makes Umbrella Academy different. This is our kind of school.

Meet the newest members of the Umbrella Academy family! 🐣💛 We just welcomed these three precious baby chicks (Viking chickens) to our ever-growing flock here on campus! They’re joining our beautiful mix of Silkies, Polish, and Seramas, and we are completely smitten. 🖤🤍💛

At Umbrella Academy Scottsdale, we believe learning goes far beyond the classroom, and there is nothing quite like the joy and wonder these animals bring to our students every single day. Our flock is growing, our hearts are full, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🐔✨
