What a fun start to Summer Camp!
Our campers have jumped right into an amazing first week filled with smiles, laughter, and so many exciting activities! From creative camp fun and making new friends to enjoying Tasty Tuesday treats, cooling off with Kona Ice, and chasing bubbles during Bubble Mania, this week has been packed with summer fun from start to finish.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of camp has in store! If week one is any indication, it’s going to be an unforgettable summer!

Today our class explored feelings together. We looked at emotion cards, talked about what our different feelings mean, and practiced ways to show them. Each child picked a feeling they had and shared it with the class, helping us learn about self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚
Our Pre-K had so much fun celebrating and learning how to care for our planet! They created beautiful Earth art using coffee filters, coloring and spraying them with water to watch their creations come to life. Each child made a special pledge to take care of our planet, and signed their name to promise they’ll do their part.
To make the day even more exciting, we released ladybugs and talked about how even the smallest creatures help our Earth thrive!

Join us THIS WEEK, Thursday April 16 from 5:00-7:00 for our 20th annual Cultural Fair and Art Walk!
Our intermediate students have been exploring Australia and learning about its national flower, the Golden Wattle! We looked closely at its bright yellow color and unique clustered shape, then brought it to life through art. Using yellow crepe paper, students rolled and glued pieces onto sticks to create their own Golden Wattle masterpieces.

Our toddlers took a little trip to England in preparation for Cultural Fair next week with their very own tea party! Dressed in their fanciest hats, the children gathered for “high tea,” enjoying delicious finger sandwiches and chatting with friends, it was a wonderful way to bring their learning to life!

Our toddlers have been busy discovering something very special… themselves! Using mirrors, the children explored their reflections. It was such a fun way to build self-awareness and language skills! Afterward, they became little artists, painting their very own self-portraits with watercolors. Each masterpiece was as unique and wonderful as they are.

As part of our Cultural Fair study of China, the Pre-K students created cherry blossom scrolls. They painted the background with liquid watercolor paints on traditional rice paper. The graceful branches were painted with tempera paints and acrylic paint pens. To finish the project the children stamped blossoms and leaves. In China the beautiful cherry blossom trees represent resilience and the beginning of Spring.

This week our beginners are celebrating National Reading Month by exploring books all about the weather! The children are learning about wind, clouds, and different types of weather while building their early literacy skills. We are also talking about what kinds of clothing help keep us comfortable in different weather conditions. It has been a fun way to connect reading with the world around us!

We loved participating in Read for the Record this past week with the beautiful story See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater! 🌱
All of our classrooms participated in the wonderful world of plants through hands-on discovery. This week helped our students discover how plants grow and reminded us that, just like Marcus, with love, patience, and care, we can grow too. 🌼
