The Scottsdale Unified School District plans to begin reopening schools in stages this Monday, Sept. 14th, after 12,000 respondents indicated that only 25% supported a hybrid model. About half of the respondents indicated that they wanted their children to return to in-person education immediately while 35% wanted to wait until all the Arizona and Maricopa County benchmarks have turned Green. More than 40% of parents preferred a phased-in return to full in-person classes, though many children are expected to continue with online-only learning. Here’s how that phasing in will work:

• Sept. 14: Special Education Special Programs and Pre-School.
• Sept. 21: Students in kindergarten through second grade.
• Sept. 29: Students in grades third through fifth.
• Oct. 12: Middle School and High School.
