This morning, our entire Pardes community, students in TK-8, faculty, and staff, gathered together on the hill to remember October 7.

In a beautiful moment of reflection, Rabbi Allouche spoke about our responsibility to bring light from darkness, to remember, to honor, and to choose hope, kindness, and goodness even in difficult times.

Morah Gilah, joined by our students, led us in a beautiful song. The yellow flowers created by Ms. Sanchez and her students, many carrying words and messages of hope, filled our hill and served as a powerful reminder that even in darkness, we can plant seeds of light.

May we continue to carry that light forward through our words, our actions, and the way we care for one another.

We remember. We stand together. And we choose light.

Our Pardes students are using our two brand new, state-of-the-art 3D printers and materials to design, create, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life in our Makerspace classroom.

Our Panthers are developing creativity, building confidence, learning to collaborate, and gaining the necessary skills needed to succeed in our rapidly changing world.

What a joyful Sukkot it has been at Pardes! We loved celebrating together and hope you enjoy this glimpse of the learning, singing, and fun that filled our campus throughout the holiday.

As Sukkot comes to a close, we wish everyone a Chag Sameach and a joyful Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah! May we continue to celebrate, learn, and grow together as a community.

It was wonderful to be back on campus together this week! Our Panthers created gratitude chains to decorate our sukkot and were able to spend meaningful time in them throughout the week.

It's been so wonderful to spend this time together, with gratitude, community, and joy.

We're very proud of some of our Panthers who traded in sleeping in late and playing video games over their Fall Break for creating acts of kindness at the JCC camp. They created bracelets for children with cancer, made cards for hospitalized kids, wrote thank you notes to J staff, and crafted keychains for J members.

It is with great pleasure that we announce one of our alumni, David Kvantrishvili, has been selected as a Teen Fellow by Arizona Jews for Justice! We are very proud of David, who has also chosen to intern at the organization.

This is a year-long fellowship, bringing together 11 high school students from across the Valley to grow as leaders and changemakers in their community. Fellows will take part in hands-on service projects, engage in text study and discussion, explore topics they care about, learn from community leaders, and build their leadership skills along the way. New this year, a Teen Board of six past fellows from last year's cohort will help guide the program, mentoring current fellows and helping shape the fellowship's growth.

We are extremely honored to, once again, have been named as the "Best Private School" in the Reader's Choice Awards put out by the Jewish News. Pardes also secured the Runner-Up award for "Best Hebrew School" as well!

While Pardes is committed to being an inclusive community, this award holds special significance because we deeply value the voices and perspectives of our Jewish community. It stands as a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, and the broader Pardes family who continually support and advocate for our school. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each of them!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Sandy Flayton, one of our middle school teachers, on an incredible honor! Sandy has been selected to serve on the inaugural Educators Advisory Committee for the Hilton Family Holocaust Education Center (HFHEC) in Phoenix - one of only 15 educators from across Arizona chosen for this important role!

As a member of the committee, Sandy will help shape exhibits and develop educational resources that will impact students and educators throughout our state.

Opening in fall 2027, HFHEC will honor our local Holocaust survivor community, support Holocaust and Genocide education, and create a meaningful space for learning, critical thinking, and civic dialogue.

We are so proud to have Sandy representing Pardes and contributing her expertise to this important work. Mazal tov, Sandy!
