Last week was just amazing!! ✨
It’s so fun to be on the “other side” of helping business owners create more freedom and profit in their business.
I’ve sat in so many rooms just like this one and worked with so many coaches & consultants to learn how to systemize my own business and grow as a leader. I’ve experienced the impact that being in a great room with great people has.
So now, to be working behind the scenes of such a powerful program and with such an incredible business leader, it feels fulfilling ❤️
➡️Our next Business Boardroom event is Aug 8 & 9 in Ponte Vedra Beach FL!

If you are lacking confidence in your role as a salon owner and leader, ask yourself…
“Where am I breaking promises to myself?”
➡️ When did you say you would do something and didnt?
➡️ When did something bother you and you pushed it down instead of discussing it?
➡️When did you push off doing or implementing something because you were fearful of how others would react?
➡️ How many time have you pushed back a start date?
These decisions and actions matter.
They directly affect your confidence as a leader whether you think so or not.
Becoming a confident leader first starts with you keeping promises to yourself. Doing the work, pushing through the discomfort, being reliable and staying consistent.
With each promise you keep to yourself, you begin to trust yourself more and more.
And the more you trust yourself the more effective you will be as a leader and business owner.
Drop a ❤️ if this was a good reminder for you today!

I spent many years “figuring it out”
How to hire, train, develop, support and effectively lead a team of stylists.
I knew growing a team was best way to grow my business. But I wasn’t prepared for how challenging it would be to manage it all.
Often times I see salon owners doing the same thing… hiring one stylist after another with no real plan for how they will manage all the different dynamics that come along with having a salon team.
➡️ A set of concrete standards & expectations
➡️ A plan to support the stylists growth
➡️ A plan for accountability
➡️ A plan to effectively communicate with your team both one on one and as a team
➡️ A plan to maintain a positive culture as your salon team grows
Just to name a few. And I get it…because learning to lead a growing team isn’t something we’re taught.
And quite honestly there’s a lot of education out there about money, finances, pricing and profit…but there’s not a lot out there to show you how to effectively lead a team, get out of overwhelm and be happy again as a salon owner.
That’s why I’ve decided to finish out 2023 offering the Salon Team Accelerator. A 4-week course with live coaching especially for salon owner with teams.
I’m literally taking everything I learned in my 14 years of salon ownership, and thousands of dollars spent on coaching and frameworks to help you lead your team effectively and confidently and condensing it down so that you have everything you need to start 2024 powerfully.
If you have questions, let’s chat. Just send me a DM.

Some of the frustrations you’re having as a salon owner might be because you haven’t clearly defined & communicated your standards and expectations.
Every great business with an incredible culture has a set of standards and expectations.
Standards and expectations are what sets your salon apart from others and attracts team players who align.
Standards and expectations are the framework that upholds excellence and creates consistency in the entire salon experience.
Most of the time when a salon owner comes to me feeling frustrated with their team, it usually boils down to one of these two things…
1) Standards and expectations are not clearly defined.
2) They’re defined but NOT clearly communicated on a regular basis with their team.
Establish your culture. Create the standards and expectations that uphold that culture. COMMUNICATE that vision to your team regularly.

As a high achieving woman you can make almost anything happen.
But at some point you may find yourself in a place where the growth that you desired (and achieved) is actually costing you your peace.
You’ve spent so much time hustling, thriving, achieving, and doing the work…that you haven’t stopped to ask yourself…
- Am I happy?
- Is this the direction I want to be going?
- What do I need right now?
Pausing can be uncomfortable. Scarcity can creep in, but stopping and asking yourself these questions will actually get you back on track to the type of growth that God has planned for you.
If you have found that the growth you’ve had in your business is actually costing you your peace, put the word PEACE in the comments and I’ll send you the journal prompt I use to go from overwhelmed and disconnected to peaceful and on purpose.

✨1:1 Meetings
If you are salon owner with a team, one of the most beneficial things you can do to support them is one on one meetings.
One on ones are weekly/bi-weekly or monthly meetings with each team member individually to check in.
These focused times with each team member give:
✅ Support
✅ Accountability
✅ Guidance
✅ Clarity
✅ Connection
When your team feels cared for and supported in their goals they perform better and the salon as a whole does better.
Are you currently doing one on one checkins with your team?

🎧 New Episode is out now!
5 simple areas that could either be making or breaking your success.
I developed these 5 pillars after years of seeing what work and doesn’t work in growing and building successful stylists.
When I owned my salon these 5 pillars were the standard on which I evaluated, educated and supported my team to creating demand for themselves as stylists.
Tune in to see if you might be missing one of these pillars in your salon.

There is only so much you can do by yourself.
At some point to get to the “next level” it usually requires another person to join in on the vision.
This is true for any large organization, big company or social movement. Companies like Amazon & Apple may have started in a garage with 1 persons grand idea…but as you know, now there are thousands of people who make these companies what they are today.
Now you may never want to grow your business to the size of Amazon (No thank you 🙅♀️) but you can certainly take queues from what it takes to grow a company even if it’s on a much smaller scale.
Building a team of like minded people who can get on board with your vision is the best way to skyrocket your salon and give you the freedom and flexibility you desire.
If you have a team or a ready to start building on. It you have no idea what steps to take DM the word TEAM. I’d love to chat 💕

I learned SO much during the sale of my business!
Although I never started my salon with the intention of selling it, when the time came that I was ready…my salon was set up to actually sell (as opposed to closing it or selling off my equipment and walking away with very little)
The truth is, regardless if you plan to sell your salon someday, you should always be setting it up as if you were.
Life happens, your desires change and opportunities come along. And you can never predict when those things will happen.
Setting your business up as a desirable asset for someone to purchase and a bank to lend on, will not only be beneficial if you do decide to sell one day …but most of all it will help you to have a thriving business that allows you to have freedom NOW.
Swipe to see 3 things a buyer and bank will look for when a salon is being sold.
*spoiler alert* It’s not how cute the salon looks.
