Did I have intrusive thoughts all the way down this path? 100%. Did I know better and do it anyways? Absolutely. Unequivocally yes. Balance right?
Will I do it again? Most likely-with large amounts of bug spray.

You truly never see the same place twice. Sometimes the FOMO overrides the JOMO. Right now I sit itching from the mosquitos but my heart is full because I needed a morning of mud and puddles amongst the desert oasis.

The rain did not stop this crew from thriving! Fish were caught and new lessons taught. I’m excited to see what’s to come and how they nourish our up and coming Bushcrafters as well. I’m always looking for ways to nourish and build more skills. There are ALWAYS opportunities to grow if you are willing to see them. 💕

There’s a theme throughout fishing. The underlying is not about the catch. It’s about respect. Respect for the fish, respect for our fellow human, respect for our environment and respect for food source. In a world full of unknown food source, let’s make sure we know who/what is impacted.

Giving children real responsibility is never a bad idea. I don’t think it’s a father’s job. I think it can be done by community. The audio nonetheless is in alignment with my why. Real skills equals real context which can lead to the consequence. Whether it’s the impact of invasive species,loss, a meal or a release there is a consequence. We want that consequence to be known BEFORE a pole is casted. We have seen what recklessness can do when people aren’t sharing their knowledge. Please teach/learn the 3 things before aimlessly casting!

There are moments throughout my day that I experience little nods. Today was a moment of gratitude to the birds. Right before the group gathered with their final tool to be successful the discovery presented itself from natural born weavers. 🪶🪹
