โš ๏ธ Be careful what sits on the throne of your heart.
Not every idol is carved from stone. Some are tucked into our schedules, our wallets, our cravings, our relationships, and our ambitions.

Your kids can become an idol.
Your spouse can become an idol.
Your career, money, sports, food, comfort, appearance, success, or approval can quietly take the place that belongs to Jesus alone.

Worship was never meant to be limited to 20 minutes and four songs on a Sunday morning. Worship is daily. Constant. Ongoing.

Whatever has your affection, attention, dependence, and devotionโ€ฆ has your worship.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œYou shall have no other gods before Me.โ€ โ€” Exodus 20:3

What we worship, we will eventually serve.
And what we serve will eventually shape us.

โš ๏ธ Three major consequences of idol worship:

๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Anxiety & Emptiness
When your peace is rooted in people, money, success, or control, fear will always follow because idols cannot sustain your soul.

๐Ÿ’” Broken Relationships
When we expect people to fulfill what only Jesus can fulfill, relationships become crushed under unrealistic expectations, resentment, and disappointment.

๐ŸŒซ๏ธ Spiritual Drift
Idols slowly numb the heart toward God. Prayer becomes shallow, conviction fades, and worldly desires begin directing your decisions instead of the Holy Spirit.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œLittle children, keep yourselves from idols.โ€ โ€” 1 John 5:21

Jesus is not asking to simply be part of your life.
He is worthy to be Lord over all of it.

โ“What are you worshipping in the way of God?

There is a maturity in following God that accepts โ€œnoโ€ just as faithfully as โ€œyes.โ€ ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ“– Sometimes God says no to the job, the move, the restored friendship, or even the unrepentant and wayward spouse.

โณ Sometimes His answer is โ€œnot yet,โ€ because preparation often comes before promise.

๐Ÿ™Œ And sometimes He lovingly says โ€œyes,โ€ reminding us that every good gift comes from His hand.

๐Ÿ’” In seasons filled with waiting and closed doors, trust can feel costly. But God sees what we cannot see. His thoughts are higher, His ways are wiser, and His timing is perfect even when it stretches our understanding.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œFor My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,โ€ declares the Lord. โ€” Isaiah 55:8

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ So what is God saying in this season: no, not yet, or yes? And where is He leading you in Scripture for confirmation? Donโ€™t just seek an answerโ€ฆ seek His heart.
